Coatings Inspection

The coatings record that defends the job.

For coating inspectors who sign off at the hold point. Log prep, DFT, and dew point against the spec offline, and the databook builds itself as the crew works.

Built in, not bolted on

The coating, proven coat by coat. Every layer, logged.

Each coat carries its own DFT window and standard, then binds into the databook that outlives the contractor.

  1. 01

    The topcoat, signed

Finish coat holiday-tested and signed at the hold point.

  2. 02

    Primer and intermediate

Every coat's WFT, DFT, and dew-point margin, held to spec.

  3. 03

    Down to the prep

Profile and cleanliness to the SSPC and ISO grade, where it all holds.

Capabilities

Built around the work, step by step.

0101 / 08

DFT Verification and Thickness Heat Maps

Every reading graded against the spec window per SSPC-PA 2, thin and thick zones on the photo.

0202 / 08

Dew-Point and Environmental Risk Logging

The ST-DP margin logged against ISO 8502-4, so no coat goes down over condensation risk.

0303 / 08

Hold-Point Enforcement in Workflow

The next coat is blocked until the sign-off is captured, with every override justified on the record.

0404 / 08

Automated Databook Generation

The databook is finished the day the last coat cures, not assembled months later at warranty time.

0505 / 08

Readings straight from the gauge

Connected DFT and dew-point meters stream to the coat record, graded on arrival, nothing re-keyed.

0606 / 08

Durability planned, not guessed

Corrosivity and durability band captured per ISO 12944, so first maintenance follows the system.

0707 / 08

The coating barrier against CUI

Every insulated line knows its system and its date, so a CUI check is a lookup, not an excavation.

0808 / 08

Holiday and adhesion, on record

Holiday tests per SP0188 and pull-off adhesion held as located pass or fail data, tied to the coat.

08 CAPABILITIES

Grounded by design

One model. Cited to the clause.

  • Reads the live digital twin, not a copy
  • Cites the API or ASME clause behind each result
  • Exports the full path to a result as one query

For the coating inspector

The databook, built as you inspect.

Gate the surface before the coat

Cleanliness, profile, and environment checked and signed before a drop goes on.

Every hold point, a decision

Approve, conditional, or reject at each hold point, with the reason on the record.

The databook builds itself

Every DFT, grade, and spec check binds into the book that outlives the contractor.

Answers

intelliPAINT, in plain terms.

Which DFT standard does intelliPAINT use for acceptance decisions?

The DFT Thickness Verification & Acceptance calculator applies SSPC-PA 2 (aligned with ASTM D7091) to validate readings against the specification window and produce a pass/fail acceptance certificate per coat.

What is the difference between intelliPAINT and intelliINSPECT?

intelliINSPECT walks the asset in service and visually flags coating breakdown or CUI risk. intelliPAINT owns the coating work itself: when a recoat is raised, prep, dew point, DFT, hold points, and holiday testing are captured here and bound into the databook. INSPECT decides a coating needs work; intelliPAINT records the work and proves it.

Can connected DFT and dew-point gauges feed the record directly?

Yes, as integration. Readings from connected DFT gauges and dew-point meters stream into the coat record and validate against spec on arrival. intelliPAINT is the system of record, not the gauge; bring the instruments you already run.

Does intelliPAINT support coating durability planning?

Yes. Capture the corrosivity category and target durability band per ISO 12944 at application, so the first maintenance is planned against the system. The coating-barrier record also feeds CUI assessment under API 583.

How does intelliPAINT handle dew-point monitoring?

Every Daily Coating Inspection Log records RH, surface temperature, dew point, and the ST-DP differential. The Environmental Risk dashboard tracks monthly average ST-DP against the ISO 8502-4 threshold (≥3°C / 5°F) and surfaces projects where conditions were marginal during application.

Can hold points block the next coat if readings are out of spec?

Yes. Hold points are workflow gates in the daily log. The next coat transition is blocked until the sign-off is captured in-platform. Any override requires a documented justification that is retained in the audit trail.

Does intelliPAINT generate project databooks automatically?

The Automated Databook Generator compiles daily logs, test reports, batch records, and compliance certificates into a formatted databook as work progresses, not assembled after the fact at warranty time.

What holiday testing standard does intelliPAINT reference?

The Holiday Detection & Pinhole Analysis from Photos calculator evaluates results per AMPP/NACE SP0188, which governs holiday test method selection (low or high voltage) based on coating thickness.

Which coating standards are built into intelliPAINT?

SSPC-PA 2, ASTM D7091 (DFT measurement), ASTM D4417 (surface profile), ISO 8501 and ISO 8503 (prep grade and profile), ISO 8502-4 (dew point/condensation), ISO 12944 (durability), and AMPP/NACE SP0188 (holiday testing) are all referenced in the daily log form fields and calculator logic.
